Customer Rating: Summary: Home Theater Comment: I love this unit. Other than a small glitch that causes me to have to turn it off and on sometimes when switching between HDMI and regular channels this is a great unit. Good sound at low decibal and nice solid bass filled when cranked. Excellent for an avereage sized living room.
Customer Rating: Summary: Died after a 10 months Comment: I was fairly happy with this product until it died after having owned it for about 10 months. At first, I noticed that the fan stopped working, and then the unit would shut down by itself 5 minutes after turning it on. I opened it out of curiosity and noticed a capacitor had burned inside (looked like popcorn). Not sure what to think of a product that died so quickly. Maybe it's just an isolate incident but I guess it's still worth sharing. Good luck!
Customer Rating: Summary: Superb Sound for the price! Comment: This is my first HTiB and thoroughly enjoy it's sound for the past year. I am a Sound guy (DJ) and you can't beat the quality of the speakers for the price you pay. The larger subwoffer, compaired to other HTiB, give you more range for those low undertones and bass. Good buy!
Customer Rating: Summary: well worth the price Comment: To be honest, this is my first surround system so take my review for what its worth! I am not a sound aficionado either but I liked the effects immediately. The first movie I tried was the latest Harry Potter - the movie was alright but the sound quality was great! I have a 720P/1080i TV and, for me, the picture quality was good enough. Perhaps, it wouldn't be as good for a 1080p TV ...
As mentioned earlier, the sub-woofers pack a punch but it doesn't overdo it. I switched the rear speakers so I could put the tower speakers in the back which was more effective for me. I used the Optical Audio in as the HDMI in pass-through mode didn't work. Not a fault of Samsungs - my cable company has got to allow it and as noted on the forums, it can get pretty hard to get the cable reps to help.
Overall, a worthy buy
Customer Rating: Summary: Samsung Comment: I really was impressed with the sound and quality of this system. when I ordered this I wasn't expecting a lot I was just wanting surround sound speakers and a DVD/radio unit for a exciting LCD TV. This thing performers as well or close to my living room sound system that I spent 2,500$. I know next time I wont be buying a item for its Brand name and price tag.
This thing is cheaply made with cheap plastics and it isn't what you would want to be bragging about as your bad system (looks wise) but if you can hide the cheaply made unit (which has worked with no issues now for 6 months) the sound that comes from it is shocking for the price you pay. The speakers are also made of cheap light plastic but the sounds from them are amazing. The 5 disc DVD player works great so far. the Ipod Adaptor works well (its just a cord the plugs into the front of the receiver and into the Ipod) The Subwoofer gives out great bass for its size I have it turned down as it shakes the walls upstairs.
I hope this helped some of you
