Summary: Meh
Comment: Maybe I just don't like racing games... but I think this game sucks. It came "free" with a package including a headset (the Microsoft one that last about a day before becoming a worthless piece of garbage), a chatpad, a 1-year XBox-Live subscription... which to me means "this game sucks so bad we have to give it away because nobody in their right mind would want to pay money for it. Hey... I'm going to take this one to GameStop and unload it for maybe $1 worth of store credit. BRILLIANT!!!

If you're into suck... by all means buy this, because it's chock full of sucky badness.

Summary: Fun but it has too much of an arcade feel in it
Comment: For me I think the game was great especially the in car view and the cars are great and the weather system is very cool... But the damage isn't very realistic but I don't really care.

Summary: one of the better arcade racing games
Comment: I don't normally like to play racing games but this is one of the best racing games out there. It focuses on doing tricks and trying to win the race and does a fantastic job of it. I've put over 50 hours into this game and find it very challenging and fun to play.

The multiplayer is also a great way to spend time online with other people and I've found this game to not cause any slow downs or lagging during online play.

Buy this game if you are into any sort of racing game or into arcade racing games. I was skeptical about this game before buying it because I don't like racing games but this has changed my mind about this genre of video games.

Summary: SHOULD OF BOUGHT PGR 3 INSTEAD
Comment: EH ITS OK. GAME ISN'T ANY MORE IMPRESSIVE COMPARED TO PGR2. MOTORCYCLES ARE PRETTY USELESS IN THE GAME.

Summary: My favorite racing game to come out so far.
Comment: Project Gotham Racing is my favorite racing series, anyone who knows my gaming habits already knows this. It is my favorite series for good reason, its beautiful, its addictive, and its fun, but still on the realistic side. As the latest in the series this is naturally now my favorite racing game, but let me explain why.

The graphics are stunning. PGR3 already had amazing graphics and PGR4 has improved on them immensely, which is a good thing because racing is a genre where graphics actually somewhat matter. The new eather effects are very well done, its very cool to drive through the snow and see it batter against your windshield so that your windshield wipers can wipe it off. The cockpit view is as awesome as ever. The lighting effects are spectacular. The backgrounds are great. The detail put into this game is amazing.

The soundwork is just as good as the visuals. The muscic is from all genres but was picked out well, and most people should be satisfied. The vehicles all sound great, accurate and unique. This is something that is sorely overlooked in the Gran Turismo and Forza series.

The gameplay is where this series really shines above Gran Turismo and Forza. It manages to stay both realistic and fun, not an easy feat. I love just flying around those turns, barely making it, or flying past my nemesis on the straight away. This brings me to the newly implemented ranking system. Now you compete against other npc drivers from all over the world until you eventually reach rank #1. This is in replacement of the traditional career mode and I think its great. Also races go by a calendar now rather than just a menu screen, which is pretty cool. There are motorcycles thrown in to the mix now. I personally prefer to drive the cars but I know there's some that prefer the bikes, and it all seems balanced enough. The garages are back, as well as the beloved Geometry Wars which makes for a good distraction. Online mode is back and as great as it was last time around. This game has the best gameplay out of any racing game I've ever played.

What an amazing racing game I'll tell ya. Anyone who enjoys racing games should be able to fall in love with this awesome game.

Editorial Reviews:

Right from the starting line, Project Gotham Racing 4 creates an emotionally-charged racing experience, where you become attached to your careers, profiles, and vehicles. There are several new features that embody this emotional experience, the most significant being the new career mode. Get ready to be rewarded with a growing fanbase that cheers you on, reacts to your every move, and supports you through victory. Just imagine hearing the roar of the crowd as you cross the finish line with your own style and flair. ESRB rated E for Everyone
