Summary: Please do your homework before buying the xbox360...
Comment: Let me preface this review by saying that I was (and still am) in love with my 360. That is the problem. I bought my system about 1 year ago and like the other folks, I babied the thing (Seriously). This week I ran headlong into a system failure (RED RING OF DEATH) after 30 minutes of playing during the evening, in an air-conditioned house with good air circulation around the unit. I had been warned by a friend before that failure was "not a question of if but of when". At the time I didn't think it could happen to me, I babied mine. I was wrong. Since then, I have talked to 4 other people who are in the process of repair or who have had theirs repaired. Customer service has been horrible in response to this problem. They changed their policy starting 8/1/08 and no longer mail boxes out for repair. They now email a packing label. After 5 days and 4 phone calls, they are mailing a box. I thought about buying another to tide me over and then selling it on ebay. Look at ebay if you have time. They are being sold in excess, as people have bought extras when confronted with this problem and are trying to unload them. That is because the 360 has a problem. That is why they have set up a program to handle this issue and that is why people are selling them everywhere you look. Do you really want to plunk down 300+ for a machine, if it is going to fail... Who else could market a 300+ maching with such a design flaw and get away with it! At this point, I agree with my friend, failure is almost guaranteed. It is a joy to play, but to be left hanging for 3-4 weeks after it fails is a PAIN. My advice... Think twice about your purchase.

Summary: good while it lasted
Comment: the 360 is a nice system if it works beyond 1 year. many people hv experienced problem with their xbox360 after 1 year when the warranty expires. the problem is commonly known as the 3 lights of death. i hv 2 units that hv had this issue. this is supposedly caused by mechanical failure. microsoft is blaming the problem on people plugging their 360 into a surge protector. somehow plugging it into a surge protector makes the 360 work harder for power. whether that is true, u'll be the judge.

Summary: XBOX 360
Comment: Other than the broken Mic out of the box, this system has no flaws yet, except I bought it 3 days before knowing they are upgrading to the 60GB :(

Summary: HORRIBLE BUILT QUALITY!
Comment: The worst system every made. It died after 1 year and my friend's died after 6 months. I handled it with so much care. My other friend works at UPS and he says he sees 1 to 5 broken Xbox 360s every week being shipped back to Microsoft. My Super Nintendo and Sega Dreamcast is still working after all these years. Microsoft does not know how to make hardware. They have no experience in designing new systems. I don't know why they even went into the console business. Xbox live is too over hyped. I own a Playstation 3 also and the Playstation Network is just amazing and it's free to play against other people around the world. All the games I want are coming to Playstation 3. Xbox 360 Elite can't even play blue-ray movies, can't upconvert DVDs to 1080P, doesn't have WiFi, and the Xbox 360 Elite cost more than Plastation 3. The Playstation 3 hard drive can be upgraded to a 250 GB hard drive for less than $100.

Summary: Microsoft Makes Another Great Product!
Comment: Microsoft makes another great product! This console rocks. I have had my console for 8 months and it works fine. You will get an occasional freeze up, but what game system does not. First, I would like to say that 360 is better than ps3 because ps3 does not have a big variety of games. Second, The 360 controller`s joysticks are offset so they are much more confortable than ps3`s controllers. And third, 360 is more affordable than ps3 (ps3 is $450 compared to 360 $299) so I would choose a 360 over a ps3 anyday. The 360 would be better if it had a blueray player, but I would would you buy a game console to play movies? So get your 360 now.
