Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Much better than expected! Comment: I have tried a couple of different charging stations for the Nintendo Wii controllers and have been disappointed by the performance, so my expectation for this item when I received it as a gift for Christmas was pretty low. After plugging the thing in and throwing my ps3 controllers into it, I was very impressed! It is so easy to use and does not use USB ports or power from the ps3 itself. This is a bonus since it allows me to organize my equipment better. The charger is styleish. It is very shiny (which I really like shiny things :)). One reviewer mentioned the lights are very bright. this is true, but not a negative thing. I like this feature because you do not have to get up close to see if the controllers are charged or not. You can tell from anywhere in the room. My solution to the bright lights when I don't play frequently is to plug the charger into a switched outlet. Once they are charged and before I go to bed, I flip the switch in my living room and the charger turns off. You could just take the controllers out as well. The only drawback to the charger is that you have to remove the mini-keyboard accessory from the ps3 controller and plug in the special adapter to charge. Not a huge deal, but can be inconvenient at times. In any case, I am pleased with the performance and would highly recommend this product to everyone! Customer Rating: Summary: Works Great Comment: I didn't buy the first revision because it got panned so horrible in the reviews. This one however, it seems like Nyko learned a thing or two, and improved it. I only have a few (minor) complaints about this device. - The lights are huge and bright, this may/may not be a problem. - It's kind of garish looking, plasticky and chrome looking (I have them in a drawer, so it doesn't really matter). - The plastic piece that hooks on the controller, could potentially block future devices (like the chatpad, etc). Other than that, these slide right in, you don't have to worry about leaving the PS3 on to charge, and running adapters for each one of your controllers. Plus you know when they are charged. Customer Rating: Summary: NYKO PS3 Charge Base 2 Comment: I have to agree with all the comments about freeing up USB ports, charging 2 units, nice cradle design and yes the bright LEDS. Only 1 major CON: It does not house the NYKO PS3 controllers. No where on the description of this product does it say - only for SONY controllers. I bought 2 of the NYKO controllers for my grand children to use, instead of my SONY controller, and this base charger. NOPE the controllers won't work with the base charger. Customer Rating: Summary: Works but too bright Comment: This is a convenient charging base. The adapters make it simple to just drop the controller in place and walk away. My only complaint is the lights. They are WAY too bright and always on. They produce enough light to see your way around a room. When a controller isn't on the stand, the light should be off IMO. Customer Rating: Summary: PS3 Nyko Charge Base Comment: It does what it said on the box. It provides you with 2 small 'dongles' that attach to the top of your PS3 controller. These are small and do not detract from playing one bit. When you are done playing just drop into the charger and hey presto they begin charging. Simple, easy and convinient.
