Customer Rating: Summary: Worst Customer Experience Ever Comment: Talk about a horrible doorstop.
This PS3 40GB was bought with the assumption of backwards combatibility. (For those new gamers, that means PS2 titles played on the PS3) This system allows you to transfer your PS2 and PS memory cards to the hard drive and even allows you to create new PS2 and PS Internal Hard Drive Memory Cards.
HOWEVER, this system doesn't even allow you to play the PS2 or PS games. Upon calling Sony regarding this problem, they will let you know that they are sorry that you spent $350+ on this system, but unfortunately there isn't anything they can do.
Considering the very limited suppy of games produced for the PS3, I was told by a Sony Customer Support manager, that this was left out to help cost of the system.
Seeing as the Xbox360 is 100% backwards compatible no matter what version you have and is roughly $100-$150 cheaper than the PS3, it seems that the 360 has my vote. Not only are there more options for the 360, but the customer support at Microsoft seems like they are almost willing to bend over backwards to assist with the customer.
PS3 gets a big fat "F" in customer service, and a bigger "F" in their system. The only thing good about the PS3 is the HDMI video. However, it doesn't make up for the fact that garbage still looks like garbage weither it's 1080i or 720p.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Console, Great Media Hub, Great BD Player Comment: The Sony PS3 (in any configuration) is a great value. The AAA games are really starting to come out now, and it can't be beat as the most future proof Blu-ray player on the market. Firmware updates from Sony ensure that it will keep abreast of all Blu-ray updates. Online game service is free and very capable. And it can be used in conjunction with your PC to stream music, pictures, and video to your tv. As I said at the beginning, a great value all around.
Customer Rating: Summary: best blu ray and game player for its price Comment: what more can i say.......i bought this all because of positive reviews all over the media.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great deal Comment: I was thrilled with my Playstation. The price what outstanding as was the service. It arrived (via free shipping) when it was supposed to and was in great condition. So glad I ordered.
Customer Rating: Summary: a good buy Comment: well i don't really need to write how amazing this thing is but, all i really cared about was getting it. My package came all perfect and sexy like. the UPS guys really took care of my baby and it's still kicking butt.
I plan on upgrading it so i didn't really care about all the sweet features the other ps3 models had. I'm just happy with what i got.
Oh go out and buy used games... you'll save a fortune.
:D
