Customer Rating: Summary: Inexpensive, works well Comment: I needed a simple wall phone with caller ID and this phone seemed to be a good match. The phone works fine, the caller ID display is LCD and its a little hard to see unless you are look closely at the small display. What do you want for 6 bucks though?
Customer Rating: Summary: You Get What You Pay For, but this is pretty good. Comment: Phone works very well... reception and transmission crisp & clear. The Caller ID is adjustable so that at maximum, it is readable. Wall Mount works fine. The BIGGEST fault, and which is NOT shown in the photos, is that the coiled cord between the hanset and the base phone is NOT removable or replaceable, and least not without significant wiring surgery inside each unit. I wanted to replace this cord with a much longer one, but I cannot do it.
Customer Rating: Summary: cords are not easily replaceable Comment: If you aren't mechanical you will have to throw the phone out if you have to replace either cord.
Customer Rating: Summary: corded but not re-cordable Comment: The cord on this phone (the one that attaches to the wall outlet) is not removable so I couldn't add a longer cord. That's rather surprising (how much does an rj-11 jack cost?) and very disappointing; I returned this phone for one that hopefully has a proper removable, replaceable cord.
Customer Rating: Summary: Decent phone at the right price, caller ID requires 3 AAA batteries Comment: This is a decent phone and does what you'd expect. Note: Caller ID requires 3 AA batteries, which isn't mentioned in Amazon's product description.
Pros:
- No AC adapter is needed, so the phone (and caller ID) continues working during power outages.
- The price is right.
Cons:
- If you hang the phone vertically on a wall, the handset is somewhat sensitive. (Make sure to reverse the hook, or it won't work at all!)
- The caller ID LCD display is not backlit.
Despite the cons, the price ($13 at this time) outweigh the cons; so overall I'm satisfied with this phone.
