Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Panasonic PT660 - Great Value Comment: I purchased the Home Theater System based on use/performance/price for our open floor plan kitchen/family room (approx. 22 x 18). This system is more than adequate and impressive. Setup was simple and straight forward. I was disappointed that Panasonic 'saved' 3 cents by not finishing one side of the sub woofer cabinet - there is a particle board side that is visible if you face the sub woofer speaker forward. (A call to the store highlighted that forward positioning of speaker is not needed for sub woofers since it is a very low frequency speaker). And, due to no fault of system, I can achieve improved sound by purchasing the wireless remote system ... checking prices as we speak. Would I buy again or recommend this system - Yes ... and I have purchased a second system for a gift. Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Sound and Picture Comment: This is an awesome set. The sound is great and the picture is outstanding. I have an lcd tv and this added so much clarity to my dvds and the surround sound has so many great settings for the different kinds of movies I watch. I don't have too many Panasonic products but this system made me to decide to look into their other products. The Panasonic is easy to set up and sounds great. Also purchased the Panasonic SH-FX85 Wireless Multi-Room and it also meets my expectations. Customer Rating: Summary: Needs more volume! Comment: The receiver plays all DVds with no problem, and it has a decent sound, but that's where it ends. The sub is very flimsy with distorted bass. As for the wattage it does good to put out fifteen watts total. My TV gets much louder. Unless you live in an apartment with old folks all around you I would not recommend it. Customer Rating: Summary: Player didn't work!! Comment: This is a nice looking system by far but I never got to enjoy it. I got everything set up and when I went to turn the power on it made a bunch of not so good sounds.. and the on the display said CHGR ERR. Which means the disc changer is jammed. Did what the book told me to do when this message pops up which is turn the power off and back on to reset it. So I did and the same message and grinding sounds. I called their tech support number they told me to get it serviced at this oe place that is an authorized repair shop over 2 hours from where I live. That means I would have to spend that time driving there and back twice (once to drop it off and then to pick it up) 8 hours of my week gone right there. I just contacted amazon.com and I'm returning it for no cost on the shipping. Save me some gas money this way. All in all it's a very nice system but if you are going to get a 5 disc changer get it with a large drawer instead of these ones that stack the disc on top off each other mainly for this reason they seem to jam alot. I had a 5 disc changer with the large disc drawer that was like a tunrtable type and it lasted me 7 years before it died and it was great. My stereo system has a a stackable disc changer like this dvd sytem has and after only 6 months it started jamming all the time. I do not reccomend this system at all unless it's for looks!!!
