Summary: needed new batteries way too often
Comment: not sure if it was a problem with just mine or for all but i found it too much of a pain to keep having to change the batteries (after little use). I returned it and got the vitech one instead - not having the same problems with that one. also didn't like where the button was to take pics on the fisher price model - so small and hard to press for my daughter.

Summary: Button is hard to push
Comment: I bought this for my daughter's third birthday. She had easily played with the non-waterproof version at a friend's house several times. She had a very difficult time learning how to hold this water proof version of the camera so that her finger could reach the button. The pink plastic case around the button makes it harder to push. Kids have to push the button in rather than down which is harder for small fingers. She eventually figured it out but I would look for the older model if at all possible.

Summary: Childrens Camera
Comment: This camera is an excellent entry level educational "toy" for younger children. One draw back is that it does not have a handle to carry it by. The child takes pictures at the zoo, but mom or dad ends up carrying the camera, wheras if it had a carrying handle like mom or dads camera then the child would feel responsible by carrying their own camera. Over all it is an excellent camera and the price is a great value!!!

Summary: Pleasantly Surprised
Comment: I bought this for my 3-year old. I was concerned about the poor resolution these types of cameras offer. In the end, the images are more than acceptable for a child. I wish the LCD screen was a bit larger and clearer, but uploading pictures to the computer and online is super easy. I added some pictures to the images section for this product.

For the $50 price, it seems like a good value. I purchased rechargeable batteries so I wouldn't have to worry about the expected poor battery life.

Summary: I am buying this for my daughter because of the Frustration Free Pkg.
Comment: Thank you, Jeff Bezos and FP for finally doing something to address the environmentally irresponsible and incredibly annoying packaging problem! I am buying this for my daughter for Christmas to support your efforts, and I encourage other parents to do the same. Just say no to sixteen layers of plastic and cardboard and three feet of steel ties!

Editorial Reviews:

The award-winning and best-selling Kid-Tough Digital Camera was the first preschool digital camera tough enough to stand up to rough preschooler use and easy enough to use. And it just got even tougher-- tough enough to stand up to water! New, enhanced "kid-tough" styling means this camera is now waterproof. Plus, it maintains all its favorite features, like an easy-to-use format and simple buttons. The 1.5" color LCD preview screen allows kids to instantly see the picture they've taken and view or delete previous shots. Image resolution of 1.3 or 0.3 megapixels provides quality 4" x 6" prints.

Additional features include auto flash, 64MB of flash memory for storing up to 500 pictures, USB cable for computer connection, dual handle grips and a two-eye view finder that makes it easy for kids to take great pictures. Requires 4 "AAA" batteries, not included. Measures 5.4" x 2.7" x 3.7".
