Summary: CHARGE DOES NOT EVEN LAST 3 HOURS, CONSTANT SYNCHING & OTHER NIGHTMARES
Comment: I thought this was a "Must Have" for us since we are a family of five and we have that many remotes in play most of the time.

Unfortunately, once getting this system set up and charging we realized the Wii no longer recognized the remotes. No problem, we synched them again. They charged overnight and in the morning, we set about to begin playing and WHOOPS! The remotes needed synched again. OK, no problem, we did it again.

About two hours into gameplay, the games began "not recognizing" the wiimotes, saying battery level was getting low. WHAT?!?! They charged for 8+ hours the first time and we don't even have the rumble or sound features on. Every time we switched games, guess what? MORE SYNCHING.

Yes, the remotes had all been synched with the Wii initially, so this constant synching is beyond explanation. After only a few hours of gameplay, two remotes were completely dead and the others were hanging by a thread and had to be synched every few minutes.

We gave up.

I am sending this product back to Amazon and writing this review in hopes that other large families like ours don't make the mistake of thinking this is an item of convenience, let alone a necessity like we did.

Yes, you have to remove the remote jackets and straps before charging, but, we thought that was acceptable for only doing it every 13 hours (which is how long the charge is SUPPOSED to last). However, every 2-3 hours was a bit too much.

If you are a single player or have an occasional guest or only play for less than an hour at a time, I suppose this product could meet your needs.

As long as you don't mind stopping to synch every so often every time you play.

Summary: Waste of money sorry we bought them
Comment: When purchasing the wii we chose a bundled option, we researched all the accessories and decided that the quad station would best suit our needs.
We played the wii with the remotes using the batteries that came with it. No problems at all. We switched to the battery packs-nothing but frustration! The remotes stop working mid game EVERY time. You have to remove the skin, the strap and the battery pack at least 5 times during a game. We switched back to regular batteries and have no problems.
This is DEFINITELY going back to the store or the trash. Such a major disappointment.
Nintendo also has said it will void the warranty should we use it. I'm not willing to risk four remotes to save a few dollars on batteries.

I hope you have better luck than we did with this. A very frustrating and costly issue.

Summary: OK Product - Need to remove the "Sync" button
Comment: This is an OK product. The batteries last about as long as any other cheap rechargeable. It was kind of hard to get the battery packs inserted into the charger at first, but once you get the hang of it they slide in easy. It is even more difficult to charge the entire Wii remote. It helps to take the strap off, but they can be charged with the strap if you pull the strap tight along the back side of the remote as you insert it.

The biggest problem I had was that several of the packs caused the remote to try to sync as we were playing. I finally just used a small pliers to remove the little sync button on the battery pack. They have worked great since.

Comment: this product came quickly and is great. I would have no problems ordering from this place again.

Summary: Fine, as chargers go
Comment: As a plus, the special purpose batteries can be charged in their special purpose charger without using the controller to keep the batteries in place. That's a problem with most chargers; if the controller holds the battery in place, then (1) any jacket over the controller should be removed or at least rolled up and (2) the controller's strap should be removed. Note that this is common with Wii controller chargers.

And you can't use the controller while its in the charger.

Consider the more versatile rechargeable NiMH AA batteries and charger instead of a special purpose battery and charger. Rechargeable battery technology keeps changing. Get the new ones. Get the high mAh ones with Ultra Low Self Discharge (ULSD) (should as "ready to use NiMH").

The more versatile rechargeable NiMH AA batteries are a safe investment.
