Comment: When this game went on sale I thought I'd do like one reviewer here said and check the game out for myself. I found out that the review on Gamespot.com was dead on. Only been playing for a couple of days and the races are fun but good lord what is up with the frame rate? How in the world could a racing game of all things make it through testing and quality control and be released with such a ridiculously choppy frame rate? The graphics are decent and some of the wrecks look great. I'm playing through despite my disappointment because I don't want to start Carbon all over again (upgraded my PS3 drive so lost all progress on the old drive). Like my title says if it weren't for the horrible frame rate I would give this game at least 4 stars but for a racing game, a smooth frame rate should have been priority one. Customer Rating: Summary: Not a History game Comment: When I bought this game I touught it was as NFS underground where you can find history, jumps and make your own game. with this game the videos are played according to the progress. the game is ok but do not expect too much. the cars are good and the driving of the cars are good. Customer Rating: Summary: NFS is back! Comment: Don't pay much attention to -most of- the bad reviews, just play the game and make your own judgement. I bought NFS undercover because I'm a huge fan and (like everyone else) had a major dissapointment playing Carbon and ProStreet, so my expectations were very low. But after playing for a while I can tell you that with Undercover the guys from NFS are back on track. Graphics are good, driving is again what we used to like (if you're looking for a real driving simulation obviously you're in the wrong place), and overall is a very good racing game. Too bad it doesn't come with a 2-player option. Bottom line: wait until the demo is out or go to a store and try it out, don't relay entirely on other people's opinions and make your own judgement. Customer Rating: Summary: Hitting the wall Comment: Another year, another Need for Speed game; we all know the drill. Instead of basically putting a little new polish on an old title, Need for Speed: Undercover instead finds EA's long running street racing series reverting back to the days when the franchise was churning out tired and boring installments. Undercover follows the same formula we've pretty much seen with Need for Speed: Most Wanted onward, only Undercover hardly has any of the charm, or fun factor, of that game, Carbon, or Prostreet. The open world setup of the game just comes off as being a pointless feature considering there isn't too much that you can actually do in it. Add to the fact that the city itself just bland, lifeless, and dull. The racing itself isn't too bad though, although it won't take long to get repetitive and just come off as what you've played before in countless other Need for Speed games, albeit done much better and more exciting. The game's soundtrack is decent and the cars look pretty alright as well, but in the end, the game is a sadly boring breeze. All in all, Need for Speed: Undercover doesn't offer anything you haven't played before, and sadly, anything you've played better either. Customer Rating: Summary: Easy way to get your racing fix Comment: After getting lost last year, it is back on the right track. The game does a lot of things right, just that there is no polish. I wish they had spent another 6 months to fully bake it. With open world games like burnout and Midnight club forcing you learning the entire city, this one is easy to pick up and play. Very similar to old need for speed games where the races are guided. There is no trophies as of I write this review. The game is very easy to play.
