Customer Rating: Summary: Rock Band 2 for Wii "Rocks"!! Comment: I received my RB2. Very cool, but almost exactly the same as GHWT. Therefore, the initial excitement of the new ideas seemed a little diminished. I will have to admit that this game is far more sophisticated using the same concepts as GHWT. As an added benefit, as I was hoping upon speculation of previous reviews that I had read, the GHWT guitar is completely functional with RB2. This made a world of difference to me. I like GH guitars much better and find them easier to play. I was so excited about that feature.
My only other complaint is that I can't play the challenges because it tells me that I have to have at least a two person band to play. That was really disappointing because I thrive on a good challenge, whether I win or lose. It seems discriminatory against us single gamers just rocking out alone. Am I missing something? I am connected to the internet, but haven't tried competing yet. Any suggestions on how I can become at least a two person band? The game didn't offer me any solutions. Many thanks if you respond!
Customer Rating: Summary: Rock On! Comment: This has been such a great family game!
I am sorry we did not start playing it until Christmas Day! My sons and I played RB1 a lot and they had also played Guitar Hero 3, but this is SO much more fun! Being able to go online and find others to perform with is wonderful. I really hope that EA is able to set up the DownLoadable Content (DLC) for Wii soon, as we will most likely master all the current songs very soon. That is the reason I am not giving this five stars as RB offers 100s of songs but the Wii version only offers a few. The boys are so good that our band is in the top 2% of Wii bands (currently numbering in the 75,000s). We had also gotten another guitar, but don't really need one because you can have just as much fun going online with the Wii and getting another player to fill out your band so you can get points / fans. Be sure that your Wii connects with the internet properly. Kudos to the people maintaining the RB web servers during the holiday season, I'm sure it has been 'rockin' over there! We had no problems that we could tell from internet issues, so they must be doing well.
If you get this title, you need to go to rockband.com and register and you will be able to see your ranking online and also make pictures of your bands and characters. Also, look at their forums for tips and troubleshooting info.
Customer Rating: Summary: rockband 2 Comment: I bought rockband special edition new for $[...] and then bought rockband 2 and now have them both for less than what some people pay for the 1. Rockband 2 is a great game and has a lot a songs on it to rock out to. You can play alone or as a group and even on-line. You can tour different cities or play locally and so on. I like it and my 3 sons really enjoy it also.
Customer Rating: Summary: Graphics are fuzzy but the additions are great Comment: For some reason, the notes are very fuzzy on RB2. They aren't on RB1 so it doesn't seem to be my TV. I've replaced the disc and it didn't solve the problem. However, if yours aren't fuzzy or you can put up with it, like I am, the additions are great. I like the "never fail" extra that lets kids play with adults and never fail out of the gig. I also like the touring additions - earn fans, add staff, play benefits, tour the world. Good stuff all. Now if they'd just fix those graphics...
Customer Rating: Summary: No need to upgrade everything from rockband 1 Comment: Well I own Rockband 1 and guitar hero III. With the new rockband 2 being designed for wireless instruments, the better responsive wireless guitars from guitar hero III now work with rockband 2. This is good news because I can now replace my original rockband guitar with my guitar hero guitars. I can live with my original rockband drums. So the upgrade from rockband 1 to 2 only cost me the price of the new diSc, which is great
