It is much more comfortable and it can swivel (or not) as the user chooses. I am unsure if it will hold up to hard use. I guess we'll see. The seat also requires regular tighting as it slowly becomes wobbly. Not bad if you are just playing on a drum game kit, but look elsewhere if you are playing on a regular electronic or acoustic kit.
