Summary: Unexpected fun
Comment: Coming from a guy who's game library includes Call of Duty 4 & 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Warhawk, Grand Theft Auto 4, I will say that Little Big Planet is a lot of fun.

Although I haven't given the single player story mode a fair chance, this game is a lot better playing with other people locally. I can play this game with my little cousins who are 6 years old and have a blast, or I can play this game with my friends in their 20's and it's still fun. I haven't laughed so much while playing a video game.

I've experimented with some user created content, some are good, others aren't so good. The downloadable content such as the Metal Gear Solid level pack is a very welcomed addition and I'm looking forward to more DLC to make the game more interesting and fun.

LBP has a lot of replay value which I like a lot. There are many games in my library that I haven't touched once I beat the story mode but I keep coming back to LBP.

This game is a definite must own for any PS3 owner.

Summary: The biggest thing since Super Mario Bros.
Comment: Owning a Playstation 3 without Little Big Planet is like owning an 8-bit Nintendo without Super Mario Bros.

Summary: Wow, so what's fun about this again?
Comment: I read other reviews and was very excited to get my hands on LBP.

However, I just don't get it. The game was fun and engaging for all of about 2 hours ... at which point I just lost interest. Yes, the concept is original and cute but, as a 40-ish ex-hardcore gamer, I just can't get too excited about collecting stickers and outfits for the goofy sack puppet characters. Honestly, I just don't see the point. Additionally, the game controls are a little awkward and not terribly intuitive.

This has been a unique experience for me as typically I'll spend weeks completely absorbed with a decent new game.

I just don't get anything from LBP. I wish I'd spent my money elsewhere.

Editorial Reviews:

Imagine a world that's yours to shape, build and explore. LittleBigPlanet puts the power of absolute creation into your own hands. If you can see it, you can enhance it. If you can't see it, you can invent it. Start by learning about your character's powers to interact physically with the environment. There are places to explore, creative resources to collect and puzzles to solve - all requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together 3D landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to view and play. There's no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learned by simply playing the game. Immerse yourself in an organic world that's just waiting to be personalized. Make your world as open or as secretive to explore as you like. When it's ready, you can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore your patch - or you can go and explore everybody else's.

Unlimited possibilities for user-created content - customize everything - your characters, the landscape around them and your own patch on LittleBigPlanet Online and offline multiplayer modes - play alone, work as a team or get competitive LittleBigPlanet global community to get involved with - includes player comments, rankings and easy communication with new and existing friends
